Assessment
During your consultation, we’ll assess your skin, the pattern and severity of your rosacea, and whether there are any associated features such as visible blood vessels, inflammatory spots or eye symptoms. We’ll also discuss your medical history, skincare routine and any factors that appear to trigger or worsen your symptoms. Understanding the underlying pattern helps determine whether management is appropriate for you.
Why assessment is important
Rosacea can resemble other skin conditions, such as acne , seborrheic dermatitis, perioral dermatitis and different types of rosacea may require different approaches to management. Identifying your individual triggers and understanding the features of your condition can help guide appropriate care. A comprehensive assessment also helps identify when further investigation or referral may be appropriate.
Individualised management
During your consultation, we’ll discuss whether management is appropriate for your individual concerns. If so, we’ll explain the available options, together with the expected benefits, limitations and potential risks. We’ll also provide advice on skincare, trigger management, appropriate referrals if necessary and strategies to support your long-term skin health.
